New Delhi: Legends League Cricket and Kapil Dev have teamed up to champion girls’ education as cricketing greats from 10 nations play a special benefit match between India Maharajas and World Giants at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on September 16 to raise funds for the noble cause.

Khushii, a non-governmental organization, was established in 2003 by cricketing icon Kapil Dev with the vision of providing quality education and holistic learning to young Indians. Kapil Dev said: “The Khushii NGO and its initiative belongs to all of us. We want to do a lot for the girls in India and I feel very good and excited that so many legendary cricketers are showing up to play for such a noble cause so that girls can have opportunities in their lives.”

“I think it’s the need of the hour for us to come together for our country’s little girl and I hope we all do. We are already educating 46,000 children in 12 states and changing their lives. We have come a long but there is still a lot to do,” he added.

Proceeds from this match will be donated to the NGO to help more girls.

Vivek Khushalani, Founder and Chairman of Legends League Cricket, said LLC feels immense pleasure in announcing its support for the cause of girls’ education and that the financial assistance will ensure the holistic development of girls.

I feel privileged to support this vision of cricketing icon Kapil Dev,” he added.
The Legends League Cricket, which is being played for the first time in India, is set to kick off on September 17 with the final taking place on October 8. It will be a 15-game affair and will take place in five different cities.
