As we near the end of another successful semester at Kean University, it’s time again for students to think about fall enrollment. As stressful and hectic as it can be to find the classes you need, while fitting them all into a specific schedule, we have help. Kean’s counselors are there to not only help students register for classes, but also to keep them on track for graduation.

To register for classes, students can visit the Kean website and log in with their Kean email address and password. Before doing so, students should make an appointment with their academic advisor, to review their presumed schedule.

From there, students will click Quick Links and then select Students from the drop-down menu. Next, students will be directed to the web advisor student menu. Then the student will select the student schedule, make sure to fulfill the financial obligation, and then one can start selecting courses.

Academic Advisor, James Clark of the Center for Advising, Persistence and Success (CAPS) said, “Students should register for their Fall 2022 Student Planning courses. KeanWise (the old system used for check-in) is being phased out and most check-in related functions are now transferred to the new system. Student Planning includes much more user-friendly features that, once mastered, will allow students to create an educational plan for themselves from the start of their college career through to graduation.

Fall enrollment dates depend on students’ academic performance and the year they are at Kean. Registration begins April 11 and continues through the Fall 2022 semester. The last day to add a course is September 7. Students will be able to find all registration dates and where they fall to enroll in classes on the main Keans enrollment calendar page.

The dates of registration by credits are:

  • 90+ credits – Tue, April 12

  • 75+ credits – Wed April 13

  • 60 credits and more – Thursday, April 14

  • 30 credits or more – Monday, April 18

  • 0 credits and more – Tue, April 19

  • All Students – Wed 20 April

From April 11 to 20, students can participate in Orientation Week. Counseling week is a time to prepare students for enrollment in the upcoming semester, typically consisting of daily events and information sessions that highlight the resources available to Kean students. The Counseling, Perseverance, and Success Center partners with other campus offices and departments to bring information to students. It’s also a great way to win cool giveaways and prizes.

Clark explained, “During counseling week, various programs are offered to connect students to resources across campus. For example, this semester CAPS has partnered with Career Services, Study Abroad, and even Residence Halls! We also offered workshops on how to decide on a major, search for scholarships, and weather the mid-semester slump.

Registering for classes can be daunting and stressful, but Kean strives to make it as easy as possible for students to pass the registration period!
