Augusta, Georgia (WJBF) – People have the opportunity to give their opinion on the school calendar in Richmond County schools for the next two years.

The school system is considering two options for the school calendar. They want to know what people think of asynchronous days or to learn about days at home.

“We made sure to honor things like a week off at Thanksgiving, a week off over Spring Break and two weeks off at Christmas, but we really wanted to get some feedback on how they feel about our. asynchronous days, “said Dr. Malinda Cobb, partner. Superintendent of Academic Services.

Option A includes four days of digital learning and two days of early release. Option B has four days of early release, two of which are only for elementary schools.

Dr Cobb said public opinion, especially of guardians, carries a lot of weight when it comes to adopting a timetable.

“He’s got a lot of weight. We are convinced that they are both good solid options. These are just two different approaches. This feedback is very important to us. We don’t want to go too far without making sure that’s what the community really wants, ”she explained.

Those who wish to give their opinion on the timetable chosen by the school system have until December 8 to complete the survey.
