Houston and Rice take part in the first donation challenge

HOUSTON – A new addition in 2021 to the Bayou Bucket rivalry, the Bayou Bucket Annual Donation Challenge pits the Cougar Pride Athletic Fund against the Rice Owl Club to see which department can get the most freebies during Rivalry Week.

Gifts received through Cougar Pride will advance core sports department priorities, including scholarships and excellence-based initiatives such as athletic performance, academic support services, and student-athlete well-being.

“This week’s challenge is a great opportunity to celebrate the importance of student-athlete success, as the generosity of Cougar Pride continues to position our Cougars to compete at the highest level in all things. they do, “said the senior associate athletic director.
