The awards presented at the start recognize students, faculty and alumni who have excelled and made a positive impact on their community during their time at APUS and beyond. In addition to the Class of 2022 winners, APUS recognized a total of 62 Class of 2020 and 2021 winners at the start. This year’s class, which includes more than 8,600 military service members, 2,600 veterans and more than 3,800 service-minded students, includes students who graduated in the previous 12 months of August 2021 as of June 1, 2022. Among the most prestigious awards, the Mary Kim Ward Resilience and Service Award recognizes resilience, patience and determination, as well as a student’s impact and influence on public service, social justice and inclusion. .
