UPSC Civil Services: Free Senior Police Mentorship Helped 131 of 761 Candidates Pass Exam

Free mentoring by Rachakonda CP Mahesh Bhagwat IPS with a team of like-minded civil servants and educators has helped approximately 1,000 candidates pass the UPSC civil service exams over the years.

The senior cop and his team of mentors have helped aspiring UPSC reap rich results over the past seven years. This time around, over 131 candidates mentored by Rachakonda’s top cop not only passed the 2020 Civil Service Exam, but also came out with flying colors.

A total of 761 candidates have been recommended by the Union Civil Service Commission (UPSC) for appointment to posts including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Central Services, Group “A” and Group “B” through the Civil Service Review 2020.

Of the total applicants, 131 applicants were trained by Bhagwat. In fact, 19 candidates – including ranks 3, 8, 14, 18, 19 and 20 – who fell under rank 100 were guided by the senior policeman.

Two sisters from Delhi Ankita Jain (Rank 3) and Vaishali Jain (Rank 21), two brothers from AP – Rallapalli Jagat Sai (Rank 32) and Rallapalli Vasant Kumar (Rank 170), the best of Telangana P Srija (Rank 20) ), are some notable successes this year, Bhagwat said.

Going beyond the call of duty, Bhagwat mentors candidates for public office for the personality test (interview) free of charge each year.

His efforts have helped nearly 1,000 candidates pass the civil service exam in seven years. All of this is done on WhatsApp groups.

Not only from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, candidates from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Assam, Odisha, Jammu- and Kashmir, Assam and West Bengal had also joined its WhatsApp groups.

How does Mahesh Bhagwat IPS help UPSC civil service candidates prepare?

Based on a candidate’s details like name, state, graduation subjects, and electives, Bhagwat helps them prepare for the personality test with probable questions.

That aside, he also shares news articles and current affairs.

“Whenever I have time, I help candidates prepare for the personality test. I feel so happy when candidates take the civil service exam, ”Bhagwat said.

Last year, as interviews were postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Bhagwat and his team of mentors guided applicants online on Zoom and WhatsApp.

For the UPSC personality test, 2 WhatsApp groups were there for online advice as well as direct assistance for Hyderabad-based applicants.

Congratulating the successful applicants, Bhagwat advised them to render administrative services friendly to citizens and to work with honesty and a sense of belonging with commitment.
