Jefferson College will begin taking reservations Monday from veterans who would like a free oil change. Supported by Dobbs Tire and Auto Centers, AutoZone and NAPA, the veteran-focused service project can accommodate up to 60 vehicles.

To thank the region’s veterans for their service to our country, professors at Jefferson College and students in the Automotive Technology program will provide free oil changes to veterinarians from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, at the Automotive Technology Lab located behind the Vocational and Technical Education Building on the Hillsboro Campus.

Supported by Dobbs Tire and Auto Centers, AutoZone and NAPA, the veteran-focused service project can accommodate up to 60 vehicles. College partners will provide oil, filters, and supplies, while students and faculty will provide the workforce as a thank you to those who served.

Diesel engines are excluded from this event due to supplier supplies.

Oil changes will be provided for veterans by appointment only. Reservations will be accepted, based on earliest availability from today, by calling the Jefferson College Automotive Center at 636-481-3436 between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. after the hours indicated, as the students will be in class.

In the spirit of the United States Army’s century-old code of honor, recipients simply need to declare that they are an armed forces veteran to receive free services.
