NOTeal McDonald has been appointed Director of Academic Services for the Odyssey Family of Schools, a new position designed to strategically support the socio-emotional and academic growth of academics in the wake of extended distance learning.

McDonald’s joins TNTP’s Odyssey, a national nonprofit education organization that supports equity in K-12 education. While there, he partnered with teachers, schools, and district and network leaders across the country to design and implement research-based leveraged learning strategies. to meet the needs of their unique student populations.

After starting his career in Austin, McDonald’s honed his knowledge and ability to improve student achievement through his work in Boston and earning an M.Ed. from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University.

Along with a propensity to dramatically improve multilingual learner outcomes, McDonald’s discovered a natural ability to analyze and align education systems and cognitive coaching.
