Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University has evolved significantly since it was established on the highest of the Seven Hills on October 3, 1887. Ongoing modifications to the FAMU campus are intended to meet the needs of the university’s scholars.

According to the American Psychological Association, one-third of college students in the United States lack food and stable housing. FAMU offers several meal plans for on-campus and off-campus students that can be purchased with financial aid. This food aid also comes with housing aid, as the FAMU campus offers accommodation in eight different residence halls, which consist of both apartments and traditional-style accommodation. These are some of the most essential aspects of the FAMU campus, meeting the two most important needs of the university’s students.

“I think in a way FAMU is meeting the needs of students,” said fourth-year public relations student Charlesalyn Preston. “FAMU is a ‘listen to what we need not what we want’ environment and I agree with that.”

In many aspects, such as mentally, emotionally, and professionally, the FAMU campus consists of multiple resources to support students. These resources include all of the conveniences of Student Services, such as Counseling Services, Career Center, Student Conduct, Dispute Resolution and more.

All of these amenities provide students with resources that promote mental stability, emotional balance, and professional development. Student Services resources enable FAMU faculty and staff to help students survive the challenges of being a student.

Despite the academic and living support, FAMU students still face minor needs and concerns that the university administration should recognize. The two most important needs to consider are a more efficient financial aid service and the development of more parking lots in the center of campus. By focusing on these two needs, students will have a more productive experience on campus because they don’t worry about lack of parking for classes or lack of financial support.

Overall, the essentials of modern life and productivity are supported by the FAMU campus. Students receive the resources needed to have a successful college experience, impacting networking and fun.

The needs of an average student are met and met at FAMU. FAMU’s ability to meet these student needs allows the university to thrive each year and become a better environment for future rattlers around the world.
