Dinosaurs take over The yard at Bayshore, where guests can come face to face with five lifelike dinosaur puppets, including Rocky the T-Rex.

Bayshore Dino Encounters is a free two-day interactive educational experience scheduled for July 28-29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event, which is normally structured for children, will target a larger audience for the whole family.

“Dino Encounters is a great addition to our line of free summer entertainment at The Yard,” Brenda Vento, director of marketing at Bayshore, said in a statement. “Our guests will be treated to an educational, interactive and highly entertaining performance for dinosaur fans of all ages.”

Participants will travel back 65 million years to the Cretaceous to learn about the dinosaurs that roamed North America.

Guests will learn about the prehistoric environment, scientific method, fossil types, and species adaptation through a combination of music, humor, audience participation, special effects, puppets, and performances.

Event planners invite guests to bring lawn chairs and blankets, but ask them to leave dogs at home.
