The Hi Desert Iris & Daylily Society, which promotes the cultivation of iris, daylilies and drought tolerant plants adapted to the desert environment, meets from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month in the member gardens.

Seniors can play pickleball

Learn to play pickleball, a modified form of paddle tennis, during a group of players that meets from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturdays at Sgt. Steve Owen Memorial Park, 43063 10th Street West.

Retired teachers to award scholarships

The Antelope Valley Retired Teachers Association will award two grants of $ 300 to teachers working in each level of education: elementary, middle and secondary.

The deadline to apply is February 12. Applications can be obtained from a school administrator.

The bridge club offers lessons

The Joshua Tree Bridge Club, 2747 West Ave. The offers free bridge lessons from 10 a.m. to noon on Mondays.

Participants must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination and wear masks.
