President Muhammadu Buhari, Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja 1, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, said on Saturday that they were sure that Warri’s new Olu, Ogiame Atuwtse III, would continue the time- honored 500 years of noble tradition of the Itsekiri nation.

“I am delighted to join millions of Nigerians in your ascension to the Exalted Throne as the 21st Olu of Warri.

“Your ascension to the throne is ordained by God. As the youngest Olu of Warri, you are the monarch of this era.

“You are well educated and a successful entrepreneur with national and international work experience.

“Your Royal Majesty is blessed with a vision and a mission and is fully equipped to look back and move forward with the people for the future.

“I am confident that you will continue the noble tradition of 500 years, and your reign will witness improved peace, progress and development for your people and the nation,” he prayed.

Speaking as a senator representing the Delta Central district in the upper house, Omo-Agege urged the new Olu to count on him for his support at all times, adding that he is a representative of all the Deltans.

Other dignitaries present at the event included: Minister of State for Labor and Productivity Festus Keyamo, SAN, Representative of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Chief of Staff, Festus Agas, Governor of Kebbi State, the Senator Atiku Bagudu and the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shuaibu.

Others were the former Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, former Governor of Bornu State, Ali Modu Sheriff, Minister’s Representative of the Niger Delta Ministry, Godswill Akpabio and the hon. Ahmed Wadada, among others.

Leading the group of traditional rulers at the coronation event were the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, Oba of Benin, Omo N ‘Oba N’Edo Ewuare II, King Jaja from Opobo and Olowo from Owo, among many others.

Oni of Ife, while congratulating the youngest Olu of Warri in history, urged Olu, 37, to be the father of all Itsekiri, good or bad.

“We will work with you as the co-chair of the traditional leader of Nigeria,” he enthused.

Delta State Governor Senator Okowa, represented by his Chief of Staff, Ovie Agas, congratulated all of Itsekiri’s sons and daughters on a smooth ceremony.

Savoring the unity, grandeur and electrifying ambiance of the coronation, Chief Agas, who apologized for the absence of his boss for obvious reasons, urged all Itsekiri to “cooperate and work with the new Olu for progress, asserting “regardless of religious political considerations.” , coloring, they should work with the digital Olu and comply with information technology, ”assuring the Warri Kingdom of the support of the state government.

Atuwatse III further urged his fellow youth across the country to renew their spirits, moving towards development without politics.

“We need to direct our energy in the right direction for development without partisan politics.

“We are going to build our women. We will ensure that our women are honored and respected. You will no longer be invisible, ”he promised.

The new Olu later announced that his mother should now be called Iya-Olu Atuwatse III and his wife, Olori Atuwatse III.
