LAFAYETTE OUEST, Ind. – Purdue Track and Cross Country Coach Norbert Elliott appointed Bree Bennett as supervisor of program operations.

Along with the Boilermakers, Bennett will plan and coordinate team travel, serve as a liaison with the sports compliance office, and supervise student managers. Bennett will also help support staff including academics, equipment, sports medicine, nutrition and communications.

“I am very happy that Bree Bennett is joining us here at Purdue University,” said Elliott. “She has a lot of experience and knowledge to be an operations supervisor, so I look forward to having a good relationship with her and look forward to her running the program.”

Bennett comes to Purdue from the State of Mississippi, where she has been the Director of Track and Field Program Operations since 2019. While overseeing the daily operations of the program, Bennett has worked collaboratively with the Compliance, Equipment and D ‘facilities. She managed the team’s travel and budget and was responsible for coordinating recruiting visits to campus.

Additionally, Bennett hired and supervised student managers and volunteer coaches and was an integral part of organizing home meetings.

From 2018-19, Bennett was the Learning Services Coordinator in Minnesota. Working with a variety of sports, she oversaw classes and academic grades and developed and implemented programs for student-athletes with learning disabilities. Bennett also worked with academic advisors to develop academic success plans for student-athletes.

Bennett was an obstacle and relay coach and academic advisor at Maynard Jackson High School in Atlanta from 2015 to 2018. His role included educating student-athletes on NCAA eligibility guidelines and tracking academic progress. for university and junior sports. As a coach, she planned and executed training sessions and analyzed and evaluated training and competition films with athletes.

At the University of Georgia, Bennett served as a volunteer assistant coach from 2014 to 2015. She was involved in the daily operations of the program, coordinating with the equipment staff, helping to organize in-home meetings and hosting the banquet. annual team awards. Bennett also helped the head coach with the budget and worked on promoting the team’s camps and community events.

Bennett received her Associate Liberal Arts degree from Bevill State College in 2009 and her BA from Angelo State University in 2011. She received an MA in Coaching and Sports Administration from Angelo State in 2013.
