Beach volleyball wins final game of weekend

Deland, Florida – The fourth-placed Seminoles (9-2) finished the weekend 2-1 after beating No. 18 Stetson 3-2 on a cold Sunday morning.

Florida State continues its perfect dominance over Stetson, improving its series lead to 17-0. Four of the five courts went to a deciding third set in today’s match.

Raelyn White and Kate Privett went undefeated this weekend on court five. The pair beat Stetson quickly 21-16 in the first set before falling in the second set 21-19. The pair came back and won the third set 15-11.

Jordan Polo and Caitlin Moon fought back on court four after an early deficit to win their match in three sets. The pair lost the first set 21-18 before winning the next two 21-13, 15-13.

The decisive point of the match was provided by Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick on court two. The pair dominated in the first set, holding Stetson to just nine points before beating them 21-15 in the second set. Chacon and Fitzpatrick now have 36 career wins as a duo.

On court two, Morgan Chacon and Liz Waters-Leiga lost to Stetson 12-21, 21-19,15-6. Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer’s results were similar, dropping their match in three sets to Stetson 13-21, 21-18, 15-12.
