Nigerian lady identified as Promise Ekpo Osaine celebrated her achievement on social media after being awarded scholarships abroad.

Speaking to her LinkedIn page, the young woman said she got four doctoral scholarships and three masters offers.

The doctoral scholarships she obtained were from Princeton University, the University of Notre Dame, the University of Colorado and the University of Kent.

His masters offerings came from western Illinois, Alabama, and SLU.

According to the young woman, the scholarships she pocketed in the United States are worth $ 206,510 / year (N 85,129,617.30).

Accept the Princeton scholarship

Promise said she agreed to study for her doctorate in computer science at Princeton University, one of the top in the United States.

The young woman said:

“As a 22 year old #Nigerian woman from # Akwaibom who participated in #Uniben, it means a lot to me. Growing up people used the name ‘OKON’ for derogatory examples and it had a impact on my self-esteem.

“I’m sharing this story to inspire all #young and young girls. They can accomplish anything they want, regardless of their modest financial and educational background, skin color, nationality, age or gender.”

The trip was not easy

Promise was quick to note that the process for obtaining the scholarships was rigorous. She faced 11 refusals after sending 140 cold emails.

In his words:

“My journey to obtain these scholarships was rigorous as I sent 140 cold e-mails, received 11 refusals and worked my job 8-5 (sleepless nights).”

She met a life coach

The young woman met a LinkedIn influencer and life coach identified as Wilfred Asuquo, who briefed her on US stock markets and the declaration of intent.

She said:

“First, I met Wilfred from Zeed Worldwide, who briefed me on US stock exchanges, the statement of intent and became my #Lifecoach.”

Promise, who is a first-class computer engineering graduate, then met people who were also instrumental in securing the scholarships. The young woman expressed her gratitude to them for their support.

Nigerian wins 6 doctoral scholarships abroad

Legit.ng previously reported that a Nigerian identified as Onyeka S. Chukwudozie took to social media to celebrate his achievements after winning six doctoral scholarships abroad.

Speaking to his LinkedIn page, Onyeka, a graduate with a first class from the University of Lagos, said he started his doctorate in biological sciences (virology) at the University of California, San Diego.

The scholarships did not come on a gold platter for the young man who revealed there have been countless refusals over the years.
